What are PDO threads?

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are strands of a dissolvable material that aesthetic experts use to lift the skin. A PDO thread lift is a nonsurgical alternative to face-lift surgery that can fight wrinkles, sagging, and jowls. 

During the PDO thread lift procedure, MyFaceLounge - medical aesthetics by MyFitMed, your provider makes a small incision near your temple and uses a cannula to slide the PDO thread downward into the skin on your face. They anchor the thread with a slight upward pull to lift your skin. Once the thread is in place, they remove the cannula and close the incision. 

In the weeks and months after your thread lift, your skin’s natural collagen grows around the thread and the thread eventually dissolves. Because the thread has been replaced by your natural tissue, your results are reinforced for 1-4 years, depending on your age and natural skin laxity.
